On April 29, 2009 The Housing Opportunities Collaborative received a special award: the Outstanding Service By a Distinguished Organization. This award was granted by the San Diego County Bar Association. The text of the award reads: "Outstanding Service by a Group or Association Not Composed Primarily of Lawyers or Judges, the Contribution of Which Over a Period of Time Have Had a Significant Impact on Some Facet of the Legal System. This award was presented to HOC at the Annual Awards Luncheon on April 29, 2009.
