San Diego Week of Action! Press Conference June 11, 2009 (62)
Housing advocacy and grassroots community organizations gathered in front of the Federal building in downtown San Diego to bring attention to prolonged foreclosure crisis and demand local and federal solutions. Despite relief plans from both the Bush and Obama administrations the majority of San Diegans in foreclosure have little to no options or relief. Coalition is asking for Federal Legislation to ensure that this type of crisis does not repeat itself again. The Press Conference was organized in response to NCRC's call to action and the culmination of San Diego's Week of Action! NCRC partner organizations in 50 cities across America including San Diego, organized similar events and programs. Our valued partner California Reinvestment Coalition along with other organizations conducted similar events in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In San Diego, the Press Conference was the culmination of the San Diego's Week of Action, which featured HOME Workshops and HOME Clinics.
